RE: travel trailer cover - who has one?

We used ours one time then stowed it back in the bag......When my wife was up on the roof putting it on (I was recovering from rotator cuff surgery) she stepped on the refrigerator vent cover and broke that. So when we took it off there was the vent cover all crushed. So be aware when you are up on the roof .....

RE: Barker 2500 power jack

I had a problem with mine and I called Camping World in Knoxville, TN and they said bring it in and we will repair it.....I took it off and drove 50 miles one way and they would not even look at it they said we don't repair any thing....Just buy a new one.......I was so mad I could have bought a new one just a few miles from where we were camping for the same price I paid them.....I have lost so much respect for CW I bet the President of CW does not know what his stores are doing to people....I was between a rock and a hard spot so I bought a new one......

RE: Satellite anntenna installation

Camping world wants over 250 dollars to install a king dome and as I look at the installation instructions it is not rocket science. My rv has a spot marked on the ceiling to drill a hole thru to the roof and the wire is right there and is aready run to the tv junction box. They wont budge on the price...

RE: Hunter Thermostat AC not shutting off

Upon further review I think I discovered my problem.....I had gone to Radio Shack and asked for a spst switch. I did not check closely what the guy gave me...It looked ok....But after thinking about it I googled a spst switch and low and behold he had given me a spdt switch. I looked in the trash for the package and sure enough that is what it was. So this morning I will move one of the wires to the other terminal. I hope that gives me the 2 speed fan operation.

RE: Hunter Thermostat AC not shutting off

That is the wiring diagram that I used.....I just double checked and I had put the (G) ground wire from my old thermostat to the (G) position on the Hunter it should have gone to the (R) position. It seems to be cooling now and shutting off now I have to figure out why the fan switch I installed is not working in the low speed setting.....

RE: Buying from RV show

It depends on the type of show you attend....If it is just a local dealer show then you are at their mercy....But if you attend a national Factory show you will see RVs that may not be sold in the local area. They are usually held at the beginning of the model years and the factory's send new model's that they are trying to get the publics opinion on prior to building them. You can get a sweet deal on one of these that does not receive much appeal. They don't want to haul it back to the factory....We go the The Tampa RV SuperShow every January and there are about 1500 units to chose from. I have seen some that I would not take even if it was free....I say one one year that had NO closets and only a few drawers...It was basically an open box. The factory rep stated that they did not think about that....When you go to one of these shows have an idea what floor plan you are looking for and what brands you want to see then go the first day it opens....after you see what you are looking for then if you have the energy look at what else is there..Pre planning is the key....that way you wont be swayed to buy something that looks flashy but would not serve your purpose. You will be a lot happier.....

Hunter Thermostat ?42995B/42999B

Is there a difference between the Hunter Thermostat 42995B and the 42999B? Do both of them wire up the same....I am not going to unpack mine until I know If the wiring instructions for the 99B are going to work on the 95B......I know that some company's make identical items for different vendors and change the last couple of digits in the model number so they can track where they were sold....I went in search of the 99B at wal mart and the only ones they had were the 95B's......

AC thermostats

Does anyone know if rv ac thermostats have anticipators like home ac thermostats do...I know they used to be adjustable....my rv thermostat in the ac mode has to be set at over 90 degrees to get it to shut off. If I set it at 80 or so it will run till it is in the 60s before it will shut off. When we set it it will take it down to where it is too cold then it does not come back on till it is too warm....I have replaced it once because it would shut off then instantly come back on....my ac is a 15000 btu Duo Therm. Any thermostat info would be appreciated....
